For a classic Labrador Retriever, the first must-have is a good pedigree. Splash is a cross of our two original lines.

One line comes from FC AFC River Oaks Way-Da-Go Rocky (through Arwen).

The other line comes from FC AFC CFC CAFC DB’s Cracker of Clubmead (through Seeker, Cat and Raven).

We also added some show bloodlines for good structure and temperament.

Reaching further back in Splash’s pedigree are dogs from one of the original kennels that developed the Labrador Retriever breed.

Buccleuch Daniel was born in that kennel in 1926. Splash looks very much like him, although she was born almost 100 years later. Both dogs are classic Labrador Retrievers.

The next must-have is good structure. At 7 weeks. Splash shows her pretty head, balanced front to rear angles, good bone, nice topline and plenty of leg.

The third must-have is retrieving desire

There’s no doubt, she loves retrieving! Shown earning her Working Certificate, Splash had to hunt a little bit to locate her duck in the tall prairie grass, but her nose led her to it.

Later she had to retrieve two birds off a pond and was also learning how to be steady at the line. When she was released to retrieve, she lived up to her name!
